The Road To Emmaus

Do you serve a risen saviour? Or are you, of all people, most miserable? Have you listened too long to the false accusers who write books and blogs and TV documentaries which say Christ was an insignificant figure in world history, who died quietly and was never seen again? Or do you instead hearken to the prophecies of the Bible, prophecies made a thousand years before Christ was born, which say that thus it must come to pass that Jesus would die, and yet rise again? Do you rejoice in fulfilled prophecy. The discouraged disciples on the road to Emmaus became transformed and re-dedicated not because they recognised him by sight, but because they recognised him as the fulfilment of scriptural prophecy. A scholarly familiarity and understanding of the scripture and its consistency will be more encouraging and motivating in your Christian life than any miracle.
